Trent Valley Archives is pleased to announce its latest books in the TVA Memories Series, Bob Reid’s Trent-Severn Waterway, 1907-2021, Then & Now .

Reid’s book features photographs taken over a century ago by David Eason, sometime superintendent of the Trent Canal, which have been paired with Bob Reid’s colour photographs capturing the same setting today. As well, the book has an interesting narrative written by Andrew H. Wilson on the engineering history of the canal, written in 2017 and used here by permission of the Engineering Institute of Canada. Reid has added a chronology highlighting some of the key developments in the history of the canal.

The book launch will take place on the lawn at Trent Valley Archives, 567 Carnegie Avenue, on Saturday, October 15 from 10 am to noon. There will be opportunities to get your books autographed, to peruse our book store, and to chat with the author and with history buffs.
