For the first time since 2019, the Little Lake Cemetery Pageant will be a live and in-person event! This is your chance to meet with some of Peterborough’s historical figures who now reside at our picturesque local burial ground.

Guides will lead groups of about 15 people through the cemetery, stopping at various grave sites where a few of Peterborough’s finest local actors and history educators will share stories from the lives of people who left their mark on our community.

This year, a few favourite characters will be returning after many years.  Others are new to our tour, or will be telling their stories in a new way.  Some, such as Charlotte Nicholls and Captain Charles Rubidge, are locally famous and have names that turn up on Peterborough buildings and streets, while others, including puppeteer John Conway, have stories that are yet to be shared and remembered.

Although the chapel will be off-limits this year thanks to the derecho this past May, we will have time and space for refreshments, questions and socializing on the lawn, where we will also have some of our local history books available for purchase (cash and e-transfer only for books purchased at this event).
