Description

Stan Andrews was an orphan. His mother died when he was three and his father when he was nine. Until he was 15, Stan was raised by extended family to prevent him from being sent to an orphanage or work house.

After they were no longer able to care for him, Stan immigrated to Canada from England as part of a post-Barnardo wave of child immigration. He settled in Ashphodel, became a successful farmer, raised a family, and lived to the age of 100.

Stan’s Century tells a story of how dogged determination can enable a person to survive and thrive in spite of difficult circumstances.
