Biographical Sketch of Creator: Dr. Eldon Pringle Ray was born in 1911 and died on December 21, 2004. He was married to Dorothy Beatrice Holliday and had 2 children, Malcom M. and Ann (Ray) Bowden. He was a graduate of King’s College (BA ’32) held a Master’s degree from Dalhousie University (MA ’33), a degree from the Ontario College of Education (’38), and a PhD in History from the University of Toronto (’46).

He taught school in Simcoe and at PCVS in Peterborough, ON. He was the founding Principal at Kenner Collegiate, the Principal at Thomas A. Stewart and the first Director of Education for the city. He was a former member of Peterborough City Council and a Mayoralty candidate, a member of Peterborough Planning Board for 5 years, a member of the Peterborough Housing Authority, and the first chairman of P.A.C.A.C.
