Biographical sketch: Gord Young is a researcher for Lakefield Heritage Research, a genealogical organization established in 1990 to help people uncover their ancestors in the Peterborough area. He has written several books including “Lakefield: A Look at Its Heritage” and “A Dark Day in Peterborough: A Time to Remember December 11, 1916” about the Quaker Oats Fire. He has also contributed regularly to the Heritage Gazette of the Trent Valley and has written several historical papers.

In addition to his work at Lakefield Heritage Research, Gord is also involved in local heritage in Peterborough, serving on local committees like the Peterborough Architectural Conservancy Advisory Committee and developing walks for Doors Open.
