Scope and contents: The fonds consists of the Lakefield Sea Scouts 1 Group Committee minutes, 1950-2013; annual reports, 1950s, 1960s, 1990s; financial records, 1948-1985, 1995-2005; records of the Building Fund, 1985-1990; reports on activities, 1957-1992, 2011; records related to the Bantam Hockey Team, 1947-1948; press coverage, 1959; programs, 1959-1967; a photo album, 1960s; Kawartha District Scouts minutes and reports, 1960-1998; and scrapbooks, 1936-1966.

The fonds includes information on their scouting and outreach activities as well as the administrative aspects of running Lakefield Sea Scouts 1. There are history files, and reports on key celebrations such as in 2011 when the group celebrated its centenary.

Custodial history: The records appear to have been kept by the Group Committee for the Lakefield Sea Scouts, and were donated to the Trent Valley Archives on April 11, 2019 by Laura Switzer on behalf of the Lakefield Sea Scouts and Scouts Canada.

Administrative history: The Lakefield Sea Scouts were organized in 1911, and were incorporated in 1936. The Kawartha District Group Committee was established in 1960 and oversaw scouting activities across a wide area generally north of Highway 7 until it was disbanded in 1998.
