Papers mainly consist of material relating to the nomination and campaign of elected Conservative Party Member of Provincial Parliament John Turner. There are files on nominations, campaign literature, polling maps, lists of local Conservative party members, Conservative Leadership Convention literature, speeches, MPP Constituency Office correspondence, appointment books, newsclippings, as well as items relating to John Turner’s appointment as Speaker of the House. Other items of interest include official booklets and programs relating to the Legislative Assembly, studies related to Provincial Highway Construction Projects, Ontario Commission in the Legislature, Census Data by Provincial Electoral Districts, and Canadian Legislature Comparative Summaries. Collection includes many photographs related to Turner’s time in the Legislature, official portraits as MPP and House Speaker, various events attended as MPP, as well as photographs of school children and their teachers around Peterborough who visited him while in office.
