Scope and Contents:
Lithograph print, hand coloured, of Stony Lake which originally appeared in Picturesque Canada, v. 2, p. 637, and titled there, “Stony Lake, near Peterborough.”. The engraver was T. L. Smart, possibly an engraver, aged 39, who was born in Scotland but was then living in Bayonne, New Jersey. The artwork in Picturesque Canada was directed by L. R. O’Brien, and there were over 500 engravings on wood done by over 200 artists. The hand-colouring appears to be well-done, but this artist is unknown.

Custodial History:
The coloured lithographic print of Stony Lake was donated by the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario in Port Hope. The print appears to have been donated to the ACO by E. Pamenter of Port Hope.
