Scope and Contents:
This collection contains a total of 12 scans, scanned in TIFF format, of glass negatives that relate to Greenwood, Ontario, and the family of J. Lloyd Pegg. Some plates include written descriptions on their surface. The lid of the original box has also been scanned for a total of 13 scans.

Custodial History:
Jesse Lloyd Pegg took many of these photographs while others were taken by his siblings. It is likely that Lloyd developed them himself. The plates are currently owned by his daughter, Laurette Brookham of Havelock, Ontario. They were scanned by staff at Trent Valley Archives in September 2014, and the scans were donated by Mrs. Brookham
Biographical Sketch/ Administrative History
Jesse Loyd (preferred to be called Lloyd) Pegg was born on January 13, 1898, in North Dakota, the son of Andrew and Essie (Hill) Pegg. He moved with his family to Manitoba about 1900, where they lived until they acquired a homestead in Pickering Township in 1910, which was eventually purchased by the Claremont Conservation Society and opened to the public. Lloyd attended the Ontario Agricultural College in Guelph. He married Alma Theresa Jackson on June 15, 1922. They had five children: Doreen, Laurette, Jean, Audrey and Alan. Lloyd Pegg died on May 18, 1994 and is buried in Ajax. He had 8 brothers and sisters: Milton, Gladys (b. 18 Jan 1896), William, George, Essie, Alice, Mildred, and Edgarton (d. 31 Aug 2003).
