The items are currently divided in 22 folders, not including Folder 1, which contains the Appraisal Report done by the Trent Valley Archives. The items within the collection are potentially useful for those interested in local history as several of the items include local families or institutions, including drawings of the local Post Office and the Peterborough Railway. Additionally, the collection might be of interest to anyone researching 19th/early 20th century architecture and engineering, as several items relate to John Belcher in the 1880s-1890s, who was a leading architect in the region.

Biographical sketch/ Administrative history: Jack Boreham is a local collector who, after a brief stint as a clerk in 1971, worked for CHEX TV from 1972-1974, the popular Peterborough news station. His mother-in-law was Marie Callaghan, a former CHEX TV Talk Show hostess. He then worked for Canadian General Electric as a machine operator 1975-1976. He worked at General Motors Oshawa, 1977-1990s.
