Biographical sketch: Janet Dora Cobb was born in January of 1923. She was a veteran of the R. A. F. during WWII, and emigrated from England to Canada in June 1948 on the Empress of Canada, eventually settling in Warsaw. During the 1960’s she helped start the Brownies, Girl Guides and 4-H club in the area in addition to her job as a secretary and President of the Warsaw Women’s Institute. In 1972 she retired to Mexico with her husband the late George Cobb (2003) where they lived for 32 years. Here they organized the Yucatan Audobon Christmas Bird Count for 20 yrs. She passed away at her residence on Sunday March 4, 2012 at the age of 89.
