Scope and contents: Photographs of Quaker Oats building, taken by Lee Photos, Peterborough. As well there are military photographs of which some are taken at Gherat, India c. 1910.

Biographical sketch/ Administrative history: George Carruthers worked for the Quaker Oats Co. as a foreman. George died on February 2, 1936. Also included within the collection are military photographs. The photos show the Black Watch and Gordons regiments of the British Imperial Armed Forces, the former having been formed in 1725, and the latter in 1881. The Black Watch still exists, the Gordons were merged into the Highlander regiment in 1994.
