Biographical sketch: The Ketcheson family is descended from William Ketcheson (1759-1848) who was born in Hodan, Yorkshire, England and immigrated in 1775 to Norfolk, Virginia. He fought in the American Revolution, and was part of the exodus that arrived at Hay Bay in 1786. He was one of the earliest settlers in Hastings County, and had a large family of seven sons and three daughters.
